eASY Member's Blogs :D

Thursday, October 8, 2009 4 komentar

Yow, eASY Members! Are you ready to rock?! Kenalin, saya Benjie, yang pernah ngurusin The House of the Sinisters of Literature! Pas kelas satu saya member IN, terus naek pangkat jadi Internal Deputy pas kelas dua >:)

Yow, how, eASY members! Gimana kabarnya semua?

Enjoy~!

eASY (english Asssociation for SMANSA Youth) is an extracurricular for the students who are interested in English. eASY has five distinct division, which are English Development (ED), English for Fun (EF), Headquarter (HQ), International Network (IN), and Public Relation (PR).

eASY was born from the idea of Mr. Rahmat (the principal of SMANSA at that time). He wanted to build an English-based extracurricular in SMANSA because there were many students in SMANSA who had talents in English. So, Mr. Rahmat asked Kang Iwan, an exchange student who had returned from USA to build the following extracurricular in SMANSA. Kang Iwan made a proposal and faced a lot of problems before it was finally accepted by the school committee.

So, eASY started its very first steps in 1998 with Kang Iwan as the founder. At that time, eASY had just been built as a semi-organization, and the activities hadn’t worked at all. Therefore, Kang Iwan’s generation is called zero generation.

In 1999, Febry was selected as the 1st chairlady in eASY, and she had eASY on the run as an extracurricular in SMANSA, thus her generation can be called the first generation of eASY. Hendradi Hadinata became the 2nd Chairperson succeeding Febry in the next year and he innovated the event “Go Around the World.” It was an event about world cultures in Hotel Salak with Helmy Yahya as the MC.

Arum stood as the 3rd person in the highest command of eASY, and Annisa succeeded her as the 4th Chairlady of eASY. Unfortunately, eASY had suffered a lost generation because the next chairlady was Medria, a first grader – by the time she was elected as a chairlady. But Medria’s generation organized STATIC (Student Appreciation of Music, Art and Creativity), a series of contests, containing trivia competition, band contest, and VJ Hunt.

After that, STATIC had developed to hold more English-based competitions and it had ran for five years with the same name (STATIC part 2 – when Rizka Mirzalina reigned as the chairlady –, STATIC volume 3 – under the reign of Rizkina Juwita as the chairlady –, STATIC season 4 – during the reign of Imanda as the chairperson –, and STATIC chapter 5). The name was changed under Sarastika’s (the 10th chairlady of eASY and also the successor of Tera Wednes Oktireva Harsa the previous chairlady who organized the STATIC chapter 5) reign as a chairlady into ENTHUSIASTIC (Educating, Entertaining, and Harmonious Students’ Appreciation of Art, Music, and Traditional Culture). Aside from STATIC – or now, ENTHUSIASTIC – eASY also had another annual event, which is STIC (SMANSA Trivia Competition), an internal event for the tenth and eleventh graders in SMANSA.

Moving on from eASY’s biggest and annual events (STATIC – now ENTHUSIASTIC – and STIC), eASY also had held some interesting events, for example: the TOEFL Preparation Test; and Tourist Hunting. eASY also held a skill training but it was inactive for a while and only given prior the corresponding competitions.

eASY once had a secretariat in front of Science 1 in the past generations, but it was lost due to school policies and renovations and eASY members usually uses classrooms and their houses as the gathering or meeting location.

Gimana?

Get the goal, eASY for all!
